The shoes allow you to walk on the wet epoxy during the fleck application. You can broadcast by hand or use a hand held seed spreader for a more even broadcast.
Why does the floor need to be prepared for the Muscle Gloss Epoxy?
Floor preparation is crucial to the proper installation of Muscle Gloss. The Muscle Gloss epoxy coating will not be able to penetrate and bond to concrete in areas where oil or fluid contamination has occurred. A spauld or worn floor may have loose mortar and/or an insufficient profile to assure proper epoxy bonding. The use of MuscleClean and MusclePrep will remove many of the contaminants and also provide a profile to the concrete floor.
Can I put Muscle Gloss epoxy over pre-existing coatings?
Muscle Gloss is not recommended for application over existing coatings because the existing coating will inhibit bonding of the Muscle Gloss epoxy coating to the concrete floor. Floors that have existing coatings should be stripped, etched or shot blasted to remove as much of the coating as possible. In cases where the coating cannot be removed, a sanding of the floor can provide a "profile" for the Muscle Gloss to adhere to.
Why does Muscle Gloss have to be flecked?
Muscle Gloss should be flecked to provide a non-slip surface to the coating. Muscle Gloss forms an extremely hard and smooth surface that can become slippery when wet MuscleFleck provides extra protection for your new garage floor.
