Grinding Is Always Better for Epoxy Prep unless…

Grinding, shot-blasting and scarifying are the best methods for prepping a concrete floor for an epoxy application. As you are all aware, the surface of the concrete needs to be roughened up in order for the epoxy to properly bond with the floor. The rougher the surface is, the longer-lasting your epoxy bond will be. Mechanical grinding methods do the best job. Period. If you do not own your own equipment, there are several hardware and specialty stores that offer rentals by the hour or day at reasonable rates.

MuscleGloss does offer an acid-free prep solution for projects where you cannot use one of the above methods (buildings with noise restrictions).
